EVR/EVRQA Transaction Delay Update on Your Vehicle Registration and Title

Dear [Customer Name],

Thank you for reaching out to the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles regarding your [Year/Make/Model of Vehicle].

Our records indicate that your vehicle was purchased on [Purchase Date] from [Dealership Name]. Your dealership has begun the registration process through South Carolina’s Electronic Vehicle Registration (EVR) system, which all SC dealers are required to use by law.

In 2024, a new law added an additional step to this process. Now, all dealer-submitted registrations must go through a quality review conducted by a third-party EVR Quality Assurance (EVRQA). Your paperwork is currently in that stage.

Until EVRQA has completed their review and approved the transaction, the SCDMV is unable to issue your license plate or title. We understand that delays can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that we are working with dealers across the state to help improve the accuracy and speed of this process.

For more specific updates on your transaction, we recommend contacting [Dealership Name] directly. The dealership may also need to reach out to their EVR service provider, who manages their system and coordinates with EVRQA.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

[Employee Name]

Hi [Customer’s Name], thanks for calling the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. I’d be happy to explain what’s happening with your [Year/Make/Model of Vehicle] registration and title.

According to our records, the vehicle was purchased on [Purchase Date] from [Dealership Name], and the dealership has started the process through the state’s Electronic Vehicle Registration system — or EVR. All dealerships in South Carolina are required to use this system.

As of 2024, there’s now an additional law that requires every EVR transaction to go through a quality review step. This review is done by a third-party EVR Quality Assurance — or EVRQA for short.

Right now, your paperwork is still in that quality check stage. Until EVRQA approves it, we can’t issue the plate or title. I know that’s frustrating, and I’m really sorry for the delay.

If you’d like to get more detailed information about your specific transaction, we recommend contacting [Dealership Name] directly. They may also need to follow up with their EVR service provider, who helps manage their system and communicates with EVRQA.
